Once
again this year, the INPS recognizes the Single Allowance for widowed parents in 2024. This support is aimed at single-parent families where one of the two parents has died and the other survivor is a worker. The check is increased and varies according to the
ISEE.
What is the Single Allowance for Widowed Parents 2024
The Single Widowed Parents Allowance 2024 is an increased universal single allowance, recognized to single-parent families where one of the two parents has died and the other is a worker with one or more dependent children.
In these cases, the widowed parent is entitled to an extra 30 euros per month for each dependent child, due in the full amount in the case of an ISEE equal to or less than 15,000 euros. The increase decreases with the increase in the ISEE and is valid for a maximum of 5 years
from the event.
How to apply for the Widowed Single Check
Widowed Single Check beneficiaries can apply to the INPS through various channels:
- INPS web portal: using the service available on the home page of the INPS website, if you have a SPID, Electronic Identity Card (CIE) or National Service Card (CNS).
- INPS Integrated Contact Center: by calling the toll-free number 803.164 (free from a landline) or the number 06 164.164 (from a paid mobile network).
- Patronage Institutes: contacting the trustees for assistance in submitting the application.
- INPS Mobile app.
To speed up the process, the INPS has updated the application procedure, providing for the completion of an additional field with the deceased parent’s tax code. In addition, it is possible to supplement an application already submitted to take advantage of the increase, if not yet recognized

How much is the check
The universal Single Allowance for widowed parents in 2024 is determined on the basis of the ISEE. The amounts are
:
- Underage children: from 199.4 euros to 57 euros per month, plus the extra 30 euros for widowed people. The full amount is due for an ISEE equal to or less than 17,090.61 euros, gradually reducing to a minimum for ISEE greater than 45,574.96
- Adult children up to 21 years old: from 96.9 euros to 28.5 euros per month, plus the extra 30 euros for widowed people. The full amount is due for an ISEE equal to or less than 17,090 euros, gradually reducing to a minimum for ISEE greater than 45,574.96

When to apply
The application for the Universal Single Allowance for widowed parents can be submitted all year round, from the 7th month of pregnancy to five years after the parent’s death. There is no need to apply if the death occurs during the use of the check, since the INPS automatically takes over the surviving parent
