The aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on the outskirts of Prince George, coming into contact with several vehicles on a roadway. Tragically, an occupant of one of those vehicles lost their life. The incident has sparked an investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and other authorities.

The charter aircraft was transporting crew members on a scheduled rotation break from Metal Energy’s NIV copper-gold-molybdenum project in the Toodoggone District of north-central British Columbia. Charlie Greig Chief Executive Officer of Metal Energy, stated, “This is a devastating outcome for a family and for the Prince George community, and our hearts go out to them.” He emphasized that the safety of employees, contractors, and the public is fundamental to the company’s operations.

Metal Energy is providing support to the employees involved and to its field crew. The company is also in contact with the aircraft charter company to gather more information. The incident is currently under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and other relevant authorities.
