Network on MetaMask: here’s how to delete it

To delete a network on MetaMask, you need to go to the network settings.

In the network settings, select the network you want to delete, scroll down and click “Delete”.

After clicking “Delete”, the network will be deleted.

If you click the Network drop-down box, you will no longer see the deleted network.

If you want to remove test networks, you do not need to delete them.

Instead, you just have to hide them in your settings.

To do this, go to the metamask settings, click “Advanced” and turn off “Show test networks”.

After you turn off “Show Test Networks”, the test networks will be hidden.

1. Log in to MetaMask

If you haven’t downloaded the MetaMask extension yet, you can do so here.

To begin with, you need to access your MetaMask wallet.

First, open Chrome and click on the MetaMask extension on the Chrome toolbar.

After clicking on the MetaMask extension, you need to access your wallet.

To do this, enter your password and click “Unlock”.

Alternatively, you can access your wallet by importing your secret recovery phrase.

2. Go to MetaMask settings

After logging into your MetaMask wallet, you need to go to your settings.

You won’t be able to delete networks from the Network itself drop-down box.

First, click on your profile icon in the top navigation bar (next to the Network drop-down box).

A menu containing multiple options will open.

This includes “Create Account”, “Import Account”, “Connect Hardware Wallet”, “Support” and “Settings”.

Click “Settings” to access the MetaMask settings.

3. Click on “Networks”

After clicking on “Settings”, you will land on the settings page.

The page contains multiple options.

4. Select the network you want to delete

After clicking on “Networks”, you will see a list of your networks.

This includes the “Ethereum Mainnet” network and other test networks.

You can only delete custom networks that you’ve added in the past.

If you are deleting a custom network such as the Smart Chain network, scroll down and click “Delete”.

The “Delete” button will not be available for the “Ethereum Mainnet” network or test networks.

6. Confirm network deletion

After clicking “Delete”, a pop-up will open.

The pop-up asks you if you are sure you want to delete the network.
