MT4 password: how to change it step by step

How to change Metatrader 4 password on PC?

From the MetaTrader 4 trading platform (terminal), a user can change the passwords of the trading account as follows:

1. Log in to the MT4 platform, go to Tools -> Options. On the Servers tab, click Change.
2. Next, enter your current master password and select “Change Master Password”.
3. Type the new master password you want to use and confirm the changes with the “OK” button.

How to change Metatrader 4 password on mobile?

When you want to change your MT4 password on your mobile phone, please:

1. Go to the Settings -> tap on your trading account at the top of the screen.
2. Press the 3-dot horizontal menu -> select Change Password -> choose “Change Master Password”.
3. Type in your current and new password and tap “Change” in the upper right corner to confirm.

There are always two types of passwords for the MT4 trading account, namely regular password and investor password.

• The regular password is used by traders to log into your account and trade.
• The investor’s password is used by another person (third party) who wants to share the account without giving permission to perform positions or change settings.
