Using the MetaTrader4 or MetaTrader5 trading platform, there will be instances when you will receive a message that you need to upgrade to a new version of your application, but the platform does not update automatically. The following article will guide you on upgrading your MT4/MT5 platform to the latest version.

Step 1. First, check which version of the platform you currently have, as it may have been updated automatically.

To check the platform version, click “Help” > “About”.

Step 2. The software version information will be displayed under the broker’s logo

Step 3. If the version you’re using is old, it needs to be updated. Turn off the open MT4/MT5 platform > go to the Desktop > then right-click on the MT4/MT5 platform > select “Run as administrator” > click “Yes” in the pop-up message.

The update will take place automatically in 1-2 minutes. Then, MT4/MT5 will open and update to the latest version.

To check if the update worked, reopen MT4/MT5 and click “Help” / “About”.

Therefore, the update to the latest version for MT4/MT5 on your computer has been successful.
