1. Log in to your MetaMask wallet
To begin with, you need to access your MetaMask wallet.
If you don’t have a MetaMask wallet, you need to install it on Chrome.
You can install the MetaMask extension for Chrome here.
After installing the MetaMask extension for Chrome, you need to create a new wallet if you haven’t already.
When you create a new wallet, you are prompted to choose a password and store a secret recovery phrase.
If you already have a MetaMask wallet, you can enter your password to unlock it or import it using your secret recovery phrase.
2. Add a new network
Go to step #4 if you already have the Binance Smart Chain network.
After unlocking your MetaMask wallet, you need to add the Binance Smart Chain network.
This is because XRP is hosted on the Binance Smart Chain network.
So, you can’t add XRP if you’re on the Ethereum Mainnet network.
To start adding a new network, click the network drop-down box.
By default, the “Ethereum Mainnet” network will be selected, so you need to click on it.
Finally, click “Add Network” to add a new network.
3. Add Binance Smart Chain Network
After clicking “Add Network”, you will land on the “Add a Network” page.
The page contains multiple fields that you must provide.
This includes “Network Name”, “New RPC URL”, “Chain ID” and more.
Now, you need to add the Binance Smart Chain network if you haven’t already.
You can get this information from the Binance docs website.
Copy and paste these fields accordingly:
Main network
- Network Name: Smart Chain
- New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
- Chain ID: 56
- Symbol: BNB
- Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
After copying and pasting the fields, click “Save” to add the network to MetaMask.
Now, your network will automatically switch to the Binance Smart Chain network.
4. Copy the XRP contract address
Link to XRP’s contract address: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/xrp/.
Now, you need to copy the XRP contract address.
By copying it, you will be able to import it as a custom token.
To do this, go to CoinMarketCap.com and search for “XRP”.
Once you are on the XRP page, click on the duplicate icon under “Contracts” to copy the XRP contract address.
5. Import a custom token
After copying the XRP contract address, return to your MetaMask wallet.
Now you need to make sure that the Binance Smart Chain network is selected.
If not, click the network drop-down box and select “Smart Chain”.
Then, scroll down the page and click “Import Token” to start importing a custom token.
6. Paste XRP’s contract address
After clicking on “Import Token”, you will do so and on the “Custom Token” page.
On the page you will see 3 fields.
This includes “Token Contract Address”, “Token Symbol” and “Decimal Token”.
Paste the XRP contact address into the “Token Contract Address” field.
After pasting the XRP contract address, the other two fields will be filled in automatically.

Finally, click “Add Custom Token” to add XRP to MetaMask.
7. Send or receive XRP
After clicking “Add Custom Token”, XRP will be added to your MetaMask wallet in the “Smart Chain” network.
You can see your XRP balance in “Resources”.
Now you will be able to send or receive XRP.
To send XRP, click “XRP”, click “Send” and paste the recipient’s address.
To receive XRP, copy your address to the “Smart Chain” network by clicking on the duplicate icon under “Account 1” (or whatever the name of your wallet).
