Trident Resources to drill 20,000 meters at Contact Lake Gold Project in 2026 summer campaign

Trident Resources Corp. has mobilized drilling crews and equipment for an extensive 2026 summer campaign at the Contact Lake Gold Project, aiming to expand known gold mineralization.

Trident Resources to drill 20,000 meters at Contact Lake Gold Project in 2026 summer campaign

Trident Resources Corp. has initiated its 2026 summer drilling program at the Contact Lake gold projectmarking a significant phase in the exploration of this promising gold deposit in Saskatchewan’s La Ronge Gold Belt. The company plans to drill over 20,000 meters in approximately 35 drillholes between June and November, building on the success of previous campaigns.

The Contact Lake Gold Project, covering approximately 22,790 hectaresincludes the past-producing Contact Lake gold mine, which operated from 1994 to 1998. During this period, the mine produced about 190,000 ounces of gold at an average head grade of 6.16 g/t Au. Despite its closure, the project holds substantial potential, with significant gold resources left unmined.

Expanding Gold Mineralization at Depth and Along Strike

The primary focus of the summer drilling program is to expand the known gold mineralization both along strike and at depth. The Contact Lake deposit, a shear-hosted orogenic gold deposithas the potential to host high-grade gold mineralization at depths exceeding 1,000 meters. Previous drilling has already identified significant gold mineralization at vertical depths greater than 500 meters below the surface.

The recently completed 2026 winter drill program successfully extended high-grade gold mineralization to the northeast at the BK3 zone. The summer program aims to grow the resource base along strike to the west and at depth in multiple prospective target areas. This comprehensive approach reflects Trident’s commitment to aggressively advancing and expanding the project.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Trident Resources maintains rigorous Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of its exploration data. All drill core is logged, photographed, and cut in half with a diamond saw. One half of the core is placed in sealed poly bags with unique identification numbers and transported to ALS Global in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for analysis. The other half is archived and stored on-site for verification and reference purposes.

At the lab, samples are received and digitally recorded, then dried and pulverized into a fine powder. Gold is assayed using a 30g fire assay methodand 49 additional elements are analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) utilizing a 4-acid digestion. Secondary metallic screen analyses are performed on select mineralized zones and all samples that return greater than 3 g/t Au to quantify the nugget effect of the gold mineralization. QAQC samples, including field blanks, duplicates, and lab-certified standards, are inserted in the sample stream at a rate of greater than 10% of all samples submitted to the lab.

Establishing a District-Scale Gold System

Jon Wiesblatt, CEO of Trident Resources, expressed enthusiasm about the project’s potential. ‘Following the exceptional success of our 2026 and early 2026 drilling campaigns, Contact Lake is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting high-grade gold projects in Canada,’ he stated. The project exemplifies key characteristics associated with some of Canada’s most successful gold discoveries, including exceptional grades, multiple stacked mineralized structures, strong continuity, and significant expansion potential both along strike and at depth.

Trident’s vision extends beyond growing the known mineralized footprint. The company is also focused on new discoveries and systematically exploring its surrounding land package, including the Preview and Greywacke deposits. This strategic approach aims to establish a district-scale gold system in the heart of the La Ronge Gold Belt. The combination of multiple gold deposits, past-producing mines, extensive infrastructure, and notable exploration upside positions Trident to advance Canada’s next emerging gold camp and create significant long-term value for shareholders.

The Contact Lake Gold Project is part of Trident Resources’ portfolio of advanced-stage gold and copper exploration projects in Saskatchewan. The company is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and is focused on the acquisition and development of high-potential mineral projects.
