  1. Connect MetaMask Wallet to OpenSea / Other Marketplaces
  2. Select your NFT
  3. Paste the recipient’s Coinbase wallet address
  4. Confirm transfer
  5. Verify the transaction

1. Connect MetaMask Wallet to OpenSea/Other Marketplaces

MetaMask does not have the “Send” option for NPTs. You can only view your NFT in it.

So, to get full control over your NFTs, you need to go to the market where you bought your NPTs.

If you purchased your NFTs on OpenSea, you need to connect the MetaMask Wallet extension to OpenSea.

To do this, you need to click on the “Wallet” icon at the top right corner of the marketplace website.

After that, you need to click “Next” and then click “Connect” on the MetaMask.

If you purchased NFT on another marketplace, you need to connect your MetaMask with it.

After connecting the MetaMask to the relevant NFT marketplace, you need to switch networks according to your NFT.

For example, if you purchased Polygon NFT, you must be on the Mainnet Polygon on your MetaMask.

2. Select your NFT

After establishing the connection, you need to locate the NFT.

To do this, you need to click on the “Profile” icon at the top right corner of the web page.

Then, you will land in the “Harvest” tab, where you can see your NFT collections.

Click on the NFT you want to send to the Coinbase wallet.

Now you will be able to see more options. Among these options, click on the “Transfer” icon at the top right of your NFT.

3. Paste the recipient’s Coinbase wallet address

After clicking Transfer, a prompt will ask you to enter the recipient’s address.

Copy and paste the address carefully. Because NFTs sent to the wrong address cannot be recovered.

Paste the Coinbase wallet address and click “Transfer“.

To copy the Coinbase wallet address, click “Receive“.

Then, copy the Ethereum-compatible address.

Now you will be asked to change the network corresponding to your NFT if you are not on the right network.

4. Confirm the transfer

After clicking Transfer, you need to approve this transfer from MetaMask.

Click “Confirm” in the MetaMask prompt. Before you click Confirm, you can view the estimated rate for gas in this prompt.

5. Verify the transaction

After the transfer, you can go to the Coinbase wallet and check the NFT in the “NFT” tab.

You can also check the transaction on the blockchain explorer. Go to Etherscan or Polygonscan according to your NFT and paste the transaction ID (TxID) on the search bar.

You can find the transaction ID on MetaMask and in the Coinbase wallet.

Things to remember when transferring NFT

  • Copy and paste the recipient’s address carefully. Because a wrong address will result in the loss of an asset.
  • It is important to maintain a sufficient balance for the gas tax/transaction fee. Based on blockchain congestion, the gas/transaction fee ranges from ~$0.1 to $10.
  • You can only use the native version of the token, not the wrapped version for gas/transaction fee.
  • To check the NFT details, you can use the contract address on the corresponding blockchain explorer. You can find the NFT contract address on OpenSea or in the NFT marketplace to which your NFT belongs.
