Stop Ecobonus Auto 2024: Exhausted Funds for Electric and Used Cars, When the Next Incentives Start Again

The Ecobonus auto 2024 program stopped early due to the exhaustion of funds allocated to the purchase of electric and used vehicles. The resources allocated by the government, although initially substantial, were quickly exhausted. Expired funds for Ecobonus Auto 2024

A few months after its launch, the Ecobonus auto 2024 ran out of funds allocated to the purchase of some vehicles. In particular, it is no longer possible to request discounts for:

Electric cars (0-20 g/km CO2 emission range)

Used cars (2024 used car bonus)

Non-electric motorcycles

These funds, allocated to encourage the purchase of low-emission or used vehicles, have been fully used.

Which 2024 Car Incentives Are Still Available?

Despite the stop for electric vehicles and used cars, some incentives are still active for the purchase of vehicles with low environmental impact. Currently, you can still apply for 2024 car incentives for
:

M1 vehicles (21-135 g/km CO2 range): 85,464,283 euros are available for the 21-60 g/km range and 63,763,900 euros for the 60-135 g/km CO2 range.

N1 and N2 commercial vehicles: 19,333,061 euros available.

L-category vehicles (including electric vehicles): 14,208,094 euros available, of which 6,374,865 euros for electric L vehicles.

Installation of LPG systems: 1,508,585 euros available.

Installation of natural gas systems: 5,981,078 euros available.

The
remaining incentives continue to support the purchase of plug-in hybrid, endothermic and alternative fuel vehicles, both with and without scrapping. However, funds for other vehicle categories have already been fully used.

When Will the Next 2025 Car Incentives restart?

The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (MIMIT) has confirmed that new car incentives will restart in 2025. Although an exact date has not yet been announced, it is certain that new funds will be available to support the purchase of vehicles with low environmental impact

For 2025, the government has allocated a budget of 750 million euros, with additional funds planned for the period 2026-2030, equal to one billion euros per year. These incentives will be crucial to promote the energy transition and renew the car fleet, in particular by supporting the purchase of green vehicles by disadvantaged individuals and families

How to Apply for Car Incentives in 2025

The procedure for applying for car incentives in 2025 is likely to remain unchanged compared to 2024. Applications for incentives must be submitted by dealers, who will act on behalf of customers through the
Ecobonus platform.

In case of a request for increased incentives for low-income families, it will also be necessary to provide documentation certifying the ISEE of the family unit. The application process is not yet active, but will be made available with the start of the 2025 incentives.

Despite the early stop for some categories of vehicles, the Ecobonus auto program will return in 2025 with new funds intended to encourage the purchase of green vehicles. In the meantime, discounts remain available for plug-in, hybrid and thermal vehicles, in addition to incentives for the installation of LPG and methane systems
