In the month of October 2023, Italian industrial production showed surprising stability, maintaining the same level compared to the previous month, September. This data, provided by ISTAT, suggests a stalemate in the industrial sector, despite the fluctuations observed in various sectors. Analyzing the period from August to October, an overall drop in industrial production of 0.7% emerges compared to the previous three months. In fact, the energy and consumer goods sectors showed a cyclical increase, respectively of 1.7% and 1.5%. From a trend point of view, the seasonally adjusted index for October showed a decrease of 3.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. It is important to note that the number of working days was 23, compared to 22 in October 2022, which may have affected the results.
