According to a recent report by S&P Global Ratings these investments are expected to surpass $1.3 trillion by 2027. This surge in spending is driven by the need to build and scale AI-related infrastructure globally.

The report, titled “S&P Global Ratings’ View On Artificial Intelligence And Hyperscalers,” delves into how companies like AlphabetAmazonMicrosoftMetaOracle and SpaceX are financing this rapid expansion. The report predicts that all six hyperscalers will experience negative free operating cash flow in 2026 and 2027, with recovery not expected until 2029. Additionally, the use of joint venturesspecial purpose vehicles (SPVs) and residual value guarantees (RVGs) is on the rise.
