Southern Silver Unveils High-Grade Silver Discoveries at Cerro Las Minitas Project

Southern Silver Exploration Corp. (TSXV: SSV, OTC: SSVFF) has announced significant results from its drilling program at theCerro Las Minitasproject in Durango, Mexico. The focus of the exploration was on the newly acquiredPuro Corazonclaim, where substantial intervals of mineralization containing silver and other valuable metals have been identified. These discoveries are crucial for assessing the project’s potential and economic feasibility.

The recent drilling results include four additional drill holes, revealing notable intervals of high-grade polymetallic mineralization. Key assay results highlight the promising nature of this mineralization.

Highlights of the drilling results

  • A15.3 metre intervalfrom drillhole25CLM-206yielded an average of581g/t AgEq. This includes195g/t Ag,0.3% Cu,6.6% Pb, and9.0% Zn. Notably, a sub-interval of3.1 metresaveraged837g/t AgEq.
  • Another significant22.0 metre intervalfrom the same drill hole averaged426g/t AgEq, comprising103g/t Ag,0.5% Cu,5.0% Pb, and7.2% Zn. A highlighted segment achieved929g/t AgEq.
  • Drillhole25CLM-207revealed an11.1 metre intervalaveraging157g/t AgEq, which included an impressive0.4 metre intervalwith1994g/t AgEq.

Understanding the implications of these results

The current drilling program has successfully tested new depths and areas adjacent to earlier reported drill holes, revealing several high-grade mineralization intercepts. Notably, previous drill holes such as25CLM-202and25CLM-205recorded impressive results, including a10.5 metre intervalaveraging1,115g/t AgEqand a10.4 metre intervalaveraging743g/t AgEq.

These new findings, particularly from drillhole25CLM-206, reinforce the continuity of the mineralization and suggest a potential plunge direction for high-grade extensions, now confirmed to a depth of235 metresbelow the surface. Vice President of Exploration Rob Macdonald stated that these results further exhibit the lateral and down-dip extensions of the mineralization.

Future exploration plans

Southern Silver’s progress on Cerro Las Minitas project

Southern Silver has successfully completed 21 out of 22 planned core holes, with ongoing analysis expected to provide additional assays in the coming weeks. This data will be pivotal in integrating the findings from thePuro Corazonclaim into the broaderCerro Las Minitasproject, which has the potential to significantly improve the project’s

In the near future, Southern Silver plans to update theMineral Resource Estimatefor the Cerro Las Minitas project and subsequently undertake a revisedPreliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). The company will also continue its baseline data collection and prepare for permit reviews. These steps are critical for unlocking the full potential of the project and making the most of the newly discovered mineralization.

Southern Silver remains optimistic about the future of theCerro Las Minitasproject, identifying numerous opportunities within the mineralized zones. The completion of the drilling program positions the company for significant advancements, with forthcoming assay results expected to generate increased interest in its initiatives.
