Increase in costs for the ski week
The 2024 ski week promises to be more expensive than expected, according to a survey conducted by AltroConsumo. The data reveals that the price of ski passes in 38 Italian ski resorts increased by an average of 4.1% compared to the previous year. This increase is in addition to those already significant last winter season, where costs had increased by 7.4% for daily tickets and 9.3% for
weekly tickets.
The most expensive ski resorts
Among the most expensive resorts, Dolomiti Superski stands out, with a daily rate of 83 euros. In second place is Madonna di Campiglio, where the cost for a day of skiing is 79 euros. Several locations in Trentino-Alto Adige, such as Alta Badia and Val Gardena, are competing for third place, with rates that are around 77 euros. In contrast, Champorcher emerges as the cheapest resort, with a cost of 159 euros for a five-day vacation
.
Price changes and savings opportunities
Despite the increases, there are places where prices have remained unchanged compared to last season. Sella Nevea and Tarvisio in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, as well as Champorcher, have not experienced any increase. However, other locations such as Vialattea and Nassfeld Passo Pramollo have seen significant increases, of 9.95% and 8.07%, respectively. For those looking to save money, in addition to Champorcher, Tarvisio and Sella Nevea offer competitive rates without
price changes.
Comparison with foreign ski resorts
An analysis of ski pass prices abroad shows that, in general, the costs are higher than in Italian resorts. In Switzerland, St. Moritz and Zermatt are among the most expensive, with rates of 97 euros and 94 euros respectively. In contrast, Kranjska Gora in Slovenia offers more affordable rates, with a cost of only 47 euros.
In addition, the survey showed that the Cervinia-Zermatt international ski pass is cheaper if purchased in Italy, where it costs 85 euros compared to 110 euros in Switzerland.
Strategies for saving on ski passes
For those who want to save money, buying a multi-day ski pass can be an advantageous solution. However, it is important to note that the days included must be consecutive. If you miss even one day, the combined ticket may be uneconomical. Therefore, it is essential to plan your ski days carefully to maximize savings
