Plenitude starts production of the new solar plant in France

A new solar system for sustainability

Plenitude recently announced the start of production of its new solar plant located in Bouillac, a town in the Dordogne region, France. This plant, with an installed capacity of 5MW, represents an important step forward towards energy sustainability in the area.
It is estimated that the plant will be able to generate about 6,700 MWh of electricity per year, sufficient to meet the energy needs of more than 2,500 people.

Network connection and business model

The energy produced by the plant will be marketed by Plenitude, following its integrated business model. The plant is connected to the local distribution network via a 1.7 km long underground medium voltage line, thus ensuring efficient integration with the existing energy system. This project not only contributes to the production of renewable energy, but it also represents an example of how companies can operate in a responsible and sustainable way

Reclamation of abandoned land and environmental impact

A significant aspect of the project is the recovery of a former clay quarry, currently in disrepair. This choice was made in accordance with French government guidelines, which promote the installation of photovoltaic parks on land that is no longer used. In addition, the plant has been designed to minimize the visual impact on surrounding areas. Thanks to its location in an area surrounded by trees, the plant is barely visible and well integrated into the local landscape, demonstrating that it is possible to combine energy development and respect
for the environment.

The future of renewable energy in Europe

The launch of this solar plant represents an important step not only for Plenitude, but also for the entire renewable energy sector in Europe. With the increase in demand for sustainable energy and the growing focus on reducing carbon emissions, initiatives such as Bouillac’s are essential to achieve the climate objectives set at European level. The transition to renewable energy sources is essential to ensure a sustainable future and to face the challenges related to climate change
