The swap fee, also known as the overnight holding fee, is a payment that is applied if you hold a position overnight.
CFD positions held open overnight incur a small commission, proportional to the value of the position. This is essentially an interest payment to cover the cost of leverage that you use overnight.
Swaps are the industry standard and reflect the forces of supply and demand that govern the market.
These fees vary depending on the direction of the position (BUY or SELL). In some cases, you can get your money back: a nightly refund.
With the exception of crypto assets, swap/swap holding fees are not accounted for/credited on Saturdays and Sundays. Rates for Saturday and Sunday will be credited weekly, including regular payment multiplied by 3 (weekend fee/refund).
