Noble ramps up gold drill program and grows Homeland Nickel holding

Noble rolls out a new gold drill campaign while boosting its stake in a major U.S. nickel venture.

Noble ramps up gold drill program and grows Homeland Nickel holding

Toronto-based Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. continues to leverage its “three-legged” model, blending equity positions, joint ventures, and a diversified land package to target battery-critical and precious metals. The company’s core footprint rests on an 18,000-hectare parcel known as Project 81 in the Timmins-Cochrane corridor of Northern Ontario, where it holds rights to nickel, copper, cobalt, zinc, lead and a suite of volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) targets. In addition, Noble has recently added the Lucas Gold Property, a drill-ready gold asset situated near historic producing districts that have delivered more than 75 million ounces of gold.

Strategic portfolio and equity positions

Homeland Nickel stake

In February 2026 Noble transferred nine million shares of Homeland Nickel Inc. to its own shareholders and, as of September 2026, retains a direct holding of 10,350,000 shares together with 750,000 two-year warrants. Homeland, also headquartered in Toronto, is assembling nine nickel projects across Southern Oregon, most notably the Cleopatra laterite deposit, which contains an estimated 40 million tonnes grading 0.93 percent nickel – described as the largest undeveloped nickel resource in the continental United States. The US Forest Service cleared Homeland’s sonic-drill plan for the Red Flat property in September 2026, opening the path for an October 2026 drilling campaign, with a revised plan for Cleopatra to follow.

East Timmins Nickel joint venture

Noble’s 20 percent interest in the East Timmins Nickel joint venture, operated by Canada Nickel Company (which holds the remaining 80 percent), covers roughly 38,700 hectares across the Mann, Hanna, Duff and surrounding townships. The area hosts nickel-cobalt-VMS mineralisation and several gold-copper-zinc targets. Canada Nickel has already released initial resource estimates for the Mann Central and Mann West zones, and a prefeasibility study slated for the second half of 2027 is expected to benchmark the project against Canada Nickel’s flagship Crawford development.

Project 81 and broader land package

Beyond the flagship Project 81, Noble controls approximately 67,000 hectares in Northern Ontario and an additional 12,000 hectares spread across Quebec and Labrador. The wider portfolio includes the Thomas carbonatite (rare-earth potential), Nagagami (niobium and rare-earths), Boulder (copper-PGM), Holdsworth (gold near Wawa) and North Bradshaw (gold) in Ontario; and Buckingham (graphite), Cere-Villebon (copper-nickel-PGM), Havre St. Pierre (nickel-copper-PGM), and several rare-earth/uranium projects in Quebec and Labrador. A summer 2026 sampling program on the Quebec claims is underway, with assay results still pending.

Lucas Gold Project drill program and funding

Drill plan and logistical needs

The Lucas Gold Project, located roughly 30 km north of Timmins, Ontario, is slated for a 2,500-to-3,000 metre diamond-drill campaign. An Ontario government grant of C$215,000 (OJEP) supports the work. A recent site visit confirmed that access will require a winter road capable of supporting heavy equipment on a deep-frozen base, a step expected to be completed before the drilling window opens in the colder months of 2026-2027. Infrastructure in the Timmins area, including Highway 655, power and water utilities, is readily available, and a memorandum of understanding with local First Nations is already in place.

Geological potential and upcoming phases

Historical work in 2012 and 2018 produced 15 diamond drill holes (3,184 m total) along a 650 m strike of a 1,700 m gold-mineralised structure identified by airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveys. Six discrete induced-polarisation (IP) anomalies have been mapped; only one was tested previously, leaving five untested targets that could host similar gold lenses stacked within a pyrite-rich tuffaceous host. Noble’s phased approach aims first to confirm grade and extend the strike to roughly 1,700 m, then to validate mineralisation in the remaining IP anomalies, and finally to complete geological modelling and a NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate.

Leadership of the venture is anchored by President and CEO Vance White, who shepherded the 2020 spin-out of the Crawford Nickel-Cobalt Project into Canada Nickel Company, and Exploration Manager Wayne Holmstead, a geologist with over four decades of experience in Ontario and Quebec. Together they steer Noble’s ambition to convert early-stage claims into economically viable projects across the battery-metal and precious-metal spectrum.
