4. Italian teachers for foreigners
Starting from the 2025-2026 school year, teachers will be assigned to teach Italian to foreigners in classes with at least 20% of foreign students.
5. New access titles for early childhood educators
The degree in education and training sciences (class L-19) and the master’s degree in primary education sciences (class LM-85 bis) obtained within the academic year 2018-2019 continue to be valid for access to the posts of educator of educational services for children.
6. Care allowances for disabled university students
A care allowance has been introduced for university students with very serious disabilities for the remuneration of qualified personnel who assist them during lessons.
7. Transportation bonus for disabled students
From 2025, disabled secondary school students will be able to benefit from a transport bonus to cover the costs of traveling home to school.
8. Educational support for students with
disabilities
The decree provides for the training of 71,788 teachers specialized in educational support for students with disabilities by 2025, with the involvement of Italian universities and INDIRE.
9. Offsite student bonus
Increase in the fund for the contribution to housing rental expenses of off-site students enrolled in state universities with ISEE not exceeding 20,000 euros.
10. Rules for the mobility of school leaders
Introduction of a transitional rule for the next school year that increases the percentage of places available for the mobility of school leaders to 100%.
11. Extension of the rules for state exams
Extension to 31 December 2024 of the deadlines for carrying out state exams for the qualification to the professions of agrotechnician, surveyor, agricultural expert and industrial expert.
12. News on student welfare
Increase in funds for the free supply of textbooks to compulsory schooled students and adjustment of spending ceilings to the planned inflation rate.
13. Length of service abroad of school staff
The rankings of school staff destined abroad will be formed every 9 years instead of every 6 years.
14. New rules for the School Credit Fund
The commitments of the fund for credit to young people will be assisted by the State’s guarantee of last resort, with mechanisms to increase the fund’s budget.
15. Reorganization of INDIRE
Reorganization of INDIRE’s functions to strengthen its training role, with a specific decree that will clarify the details.
Entry into force of the 2024 school decree
