What is the Lazio 2024 Birth Bonus
The Lazio 2024 Birth Bonus is a one-time economic contribution, of a maximum amount of 2,000 euros, aimed at supporting birth and parenting. It is aimed at families resident or moving to the “very small municipalities” of the Lazio Region, who have at least one child under 3 years old or arriving by December 31, 2024, with an ISEE of less than
30,000 euros.
This bonus is governed by Regional Law No. 9 of August 7, 2020 and Council Resolution No. 249 of 2024, which define as “very small municipalities” those with a population of up to 2,000 inhabitants.
Requirements to obtain the Lazio Birth Bonus
The beneficiaries of the Lazio Region 2024 Birth Bonus must meet the following requirements:
- Residence or transfer of residence to one of the “very small municipalities” of Lazio.
- Children under 3 years old or arriving by 31 December 2024.
- Ordinary or current ISEE of the family unit of less than 30,000 euros per year.
- Commitment to maintaining residence and usual residence in the Municipality that recognizes the bonus for 5 years following the award of the benefit.
In addition, parents must:
- Have Italian citizenship, of an EU country or a regular residence permit.
- Do not illegally occupy public or private housing.
- Be in compliance with school attendance obligations for other minor children.
How does the Lazio Region 2024 Birth Bonus work
The bonus is provided by municipalities in a single solution to families that meet the required requirements. The Lazio Region allocates funds for municipalities with a population of up to 2,000 inhabitants, and these funds are then managed by local governments through special calls. Municipalities can establish priority criteria, such as a lower ISEE or the presence of more dependent minor children

How much is the contribution
The economic contribution may vary from a minimum of 500 euros to a maximum of 2,000 euros. Each municipality sets the amount of the bonus within this range, taking into account the number of applications received and the funds available

For 2024, the Lazio Region has allocated a total of 1,300,000 euros, distributed according to the population of the municipalities:
- 10,000 euros for municipalities with a population between 1,000 and 2,000 inhabitants.
- 7,000 euros for municipalities with a population between 500 and 1,000 inhabitants.
- 4,634.15 euros for municipalities with a population of up to 500 inhabitants.
