Net income and total assets

September 2023, the asset management market in Italy recorded positive net inflows of 869 million euros, bringing total assets to 2,434 billion euros. This marks an increase compared to 2,406 billion in the previous month, highlighting continued growth in the sector.
The monthly analysis provided by Assogestioni, through its Research Department, revealed that the performance effect had a positive impact, contributing to an increase of 1.1%.
Mutual fund segmentation
Analyzing the mutual fund segment, which mainly involves retail investors, it can be seen that net inflows were positive by 632 million euros. Bond funds played a key role in this context, with inflows of 2.38 billion euros. Balanced funds also contributed positively, raising 791 million euros. However, not all categories had favorable results: equity and flexible funds recorded outflows of 826 and 440 million euros, respectively

Fund performance and asset management
The performance of open funds showed an increase of 0.9%, while closed funds reported a positive result with a collection of 84 million euros. Retail portfolio management recorded an inflow of 659 million euros, demonstrating the interest of investors in this type of product. However, institutional asset management recorded an outflow of 506 million euros, highlighting some volatility in this segment.
