Starting from June 2024, workers in the tourism sector in Italy will see a significant increase in their salaries, as a result of the renewal of the National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL) for public establishments, collective and commercial catering, and tourism. This long-awaited contract update will involve more than one million employees in more than 300,000 companies in the
sector.
News about the renewal of the CCNL Tourism 2024
The renewal of the CCNL for the tourism sector was signed on June 5, 2024 and provides for a salary increase of up to 200 euros for workers. This agreement, which will remain in effect until December 31, 2027, also introduces significant improvements in supplementary healthcare for employees. The contract was signed by the main trade unions, including Filcams CGIL, Fisascat CISL and Uiltucs, together with employers’ associations such as Fipe ConfCommercio, Legacoop Production and Services, Confcooperative Lavoro e Servizi,
and Agci Servizi.
Details of the salary increase
The salary increase will be applied directly to the payroll starting from June 2024 and will not require any request or question from workers. The wage increase will be distributed in five tranches, with specific amounts determined based on the level of classification of the employees. Here is the breakdown of the tranches for a 4th-level worker

- June 2024: 50 euros
- June 2025: 40 euros
- June 2026: 40 euros
- June 2027: 30 euros
- December 2027: 40 euros
The salary increase will affect all workers hired with the CCNL Public Exercises FIPE. This includes a wide range of businesses and businesses, including:
- traditional restaurants, self-service restaurants, fast food restaurants, taverns, pizzerias, etc.
- small guesthouses, inns, bars, cafes, ice cream parlors, pastry shops, nightclubs
- kiosks selling soft drinks and ice cream, artisanal pastry workshops
- refreshment stations on highways, train stations, airports and ports
- company bars, bathing establishments, gyms and sports facilities
- catering and collective catering companies, also under contract
The wage increase concerns a vital sector for the Italian economy, with an annual turnover that exceeds 80 billion euros. Timing and delivery methods
The increase in salaries will start from June 2024, with the first tranche of 50 euros. The following tranches will be disbursed annually until December 2027. The increase is automatic and does not require any action on the part of the workers, other than the verification of the correct application in the payroll
