From September 2024, the gas bonus will be operational, enhanced with discounts applied for those entitled thanks to the MIMIT agreement with the main associations in the fuel sector. The beneficiaries of the bonus are the same holders of the Spending Savings Card who will receive this additional amount compared to the original amount, to face the increase in fuel prices. Starting this year, the total amount for each family receiving the 2024 gas bonus is 500 euros

What is the 2024 gas bonus
The gas bonus is a one-time contribution for families with an ISEE not exceeding 15,000 euros per year. The economic aid was approved with the 2023 energy decree converted into law. For 2024, it is governed by decree of 4 June 2024 and by message n. 2575 of 10 July
2024.
Initially, it was a bonus of 150 euros for gasoline, then changed to 77 euros, but the proposal was modified until it reached the final form of 2024. The incentive is a voucher that is added to the amount allocated to those who already hold the savings card, for a total of 500 euros per family unit. On August 1, 2024, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy approved an agreement with the main associations in the fuel sector, renewing the application of discounts for card holders

Who is entitled to the gas bonus
The fuel bonus is due to those who have already received the Grocery Savings Card. Let’s talk about families that meet the following requirements:
- Registration of all components in the registry of the resident population (municipal registry).
- Ownership of an ordinary, valid ISEE certification, with an indicator not exceeding 15,000 euros per year.
Not all eligible families are automatically eligible for the Spending Savings Card because the funds for each municipality are limited. The INPS has established an order of priority to draw up the ranking with the list of beneficiaries

Who is excluded from the gas bonus
Some families are excluded a priori from the 2024 gas bonus, as their situation is incompatible with the Spending Savings Card. The aid is not due to families that are the owners
of:
- Inclusion allowance from 2024.
- Any other measure of social inclusion or support for poverty.
Furthermore, families in which at least one member is a recipient of:
- NASPI or DIS-COLL.
- Mobility allowance.
- Solidarity funds for income integration.
- Social Security Fund (CIG).
- Any other form of wage supplementation or support in case of involuntary unemployment provided by the state.
How to apply for the gas bonus
To obtain the 2024 gas bonus provided through the Savings Card, it is not necessary to apply online or in other forms. The beneficiaries are identified by the INPS in collaboration with Italian municipalities, which send the communication to those entitled. After receiving the communication, it is necessary to go to a Poste Italiane office with the necessary documents to collect the prepaid and already active Postepay electronic card

The 2024 gas bonus can be used immediately through the Social Card. The cards are nominative and the benefit will expire if you do not make the first payment with the card by February 28, 2025

When does the gas bonus arrive
The INPS, in message no. 2575 dated July 10, 2024, provided the operational indications of the 2024 Card dedicated to you and confirmed that, together with it, the gas bonus will arrive in September 2024. Therefore, there was no gas bonus in July 2024, as previously announced. Rather, since July 2024, the INPS has provided municipalities with the list of those entitled to the bonus, but in fact, the card will arrive only from
September 2024.
How much does it amount to
The fuel bonus is included in the Spending Savings Card, which has a total value of 500 euros. The contribution is granted per individual family unit

How does the 2024 gas bonus work
The fuel bonus works thanks to the agreement with the participating companies. Basically, the companies participating in the initiative offer alternately
:
- An immediate discount on the amount of the replenishment.
- A voucher to be used for a subsequent purchase of fuel.
Companies join the initiative on a voluntary basis. The members inform the user, according to their organizational methods, of the discounts and the methods of using the discount they intend to apply to the holders of the “Dedicated to You” card

The agreement between MIMIT and the main associations in the fuel sector, which renews the application of discounts for holders of the 2024 Card dedicated to you and governs the conditions under which companies authorized to sell adhere to plans to contain the costs of the pump price, was signed on August 1, 2024.
