How to connect MetaMask to PancakeSwap

Before you can trade tokens on PancakeSwap, you need to link a wallet like MetaMask to it.

This way, you can use your BNB from MetaMask to exchange for another token.

To connect MetaMask to PancakeSwap, you need to install MetaMask on Chrome and create a new wallet.

Then, go to PancakeSwap, click “Connect” and click “MetaMask”.

After clicking “MetaMask”, a pop-up notification will open.

The pop-up notification will guide you on how to connect MetaMask to PancakeSwap.

All you have to do is to follow the on-screen instructions to connect them together.

Then, your MetaMask wallet will be automatically connected to the Binance Smart Chain network.

1. Install MetaMask and create a new wallet

Note: Go to the second step if you’ve already installed MetaMask on Chrome.

The first step is to install MetaMask and create a new wallet.

First, go to the MetaMask website on your desktop.

Once you are on the MetaMask website, click “Download Now” followed by “Install MetaMask for Chrome”.

Clicking “Install MetaMask for Chrome” will take you to the MetaMask extension on Chrome.

Then, click “Add to Chrome” to add MetaMask to Chrome.

After adding MetaMask to Chrome, you will land on the home page of the MetaMask website.

On the home page, you’ll see a couple of options including “Import Wallet” and “Create a Wallet.”

If this is your first time using MetaMask, click Create a Wallet.

In the process of creating the wallet, you will be given a recovery phrase.

Be sure to save the recovery phrase in a safe place.

After saving the recovery phrase, you need to verify it.

After verifying the recovery phrase, your MetaMask wallet will be created successfully.

2. Go to PancakeSwap and click “Connect”

Now that you have created a new wallet on MetaMask, you can connect it to PancakeSwap.

First, go to the PancakeSwap website.

Once you are on the PancakeSwap website, you will see a “Connect” button in the top navigation bar.

Click the “Connect” button.

After clicking the “Connect” button, a pop-up will open.

In the pop-up, you will see a list of wallets that you can choose from.

This includes “Metamask”, “TrustWallet”, “MathWallet” and others.

Since you are trying to connect Metamask to PancakeSwap, click “Metamask”.

3. Connect MetaMask to PancakeSwap

After clicking “MetaMask”, the MetaMask pop-up notification will open.

In the notification, you will see all your MetaMask accounts.

If you only have one account, you don’t have to do anything as it will be selected by default.

Then, tap on the “Next” button to continue with the connection process.

After tapping on the “Next” button, you will land on the “Connect to Account” page.

On the page, you’ll see a “View your allowed account addresses (required)” checkbox.

The check box indicates that you must allow PancakeSwap to display its addresses.

By default, the check box will be selected as prompted.

Tap on the “Connect” button to proceed to the next step.

4. Allow the use of PancakeSwap within MetaMask

After tapping on the “Connect” button, you will land on the “Allow this site to add a network” page.

By default, the network that will be used is the Binance Smart Chain Mainnet.

If it’s on another network, you can change it later through MetaMask’s settings.

Tap on the “Approve” button to proceed to the next step.

After tapping “Approve”, you will land on the page “Allow this site to switch networks?”.

The final step is to switch the selected network on MetaMask to the Binance Smart Chain Mainnet wallet.

To do this, tap on “Switch Network” to switch networks.

After tapping on “Switch Network”, you will return to PancakeSwap.

On PancakeSwap, you will see your wallet address in the upper right corner of the page.

This means that you have successfully connected MetaMask to PancakeSwap.

Now you will be able to exchange BNB for another token.

You can do this by pasting the address of the token you want to buy into the “To” field.

Next, enter the amount of BNB you want to trade for the token and click “Swap” to exchange them.

Conclusion

Make sure the network selected on MetaMask is the Binance Smart Chain network.
