What is the 2024 Motorcycle and Scooter Bonus?
The 2024 Motorcycle and Scooter Bonus is a state incentive aimed at supporting the purchase of motorcycles, scooters, tricycles and quadricycles with electricity supply or with low environmental impact.

This incentive is part of the measures provided for by the Ecobonus Auto Decree 2024. A total of 50 million euros have been allocated for 2024, including 45 million for electric vehicles and 5 million for heat engine vehicles. However, funds for thermal vehicles have already run out, while funds are still available for
electric vehicles.
What Incentives Are Still Available?
To date, it is still possible to claim the bonus for electric category L vehicles. Around 14.2 million euros remain available for these vehicles, while for non-electric vehicles it is no longer possible to obtain incentives because the funds have
run out.
Who is entitled to the 2024 Motorcycle and Scooter Bonus?
The incentive is aimed at:
• Individuals: Anyone who buys (also under financial lease) and registers in Italy a new factory electric or non-electric vehicle, of the categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e. The vehicle must be maintained for at least 12 months.
• Legal entities: Companies, except those with ATECO code 45.40.1, can access the incentive to purchase new electric vehicles in the same categories, provided they keep them for at least 24 months.
How does the 2024 Motorcycle and Scooter Bonus work?
The bonus is applied as a direct discount when the vehicle is purchased, in the following ways:
• 30% of the purchase price, up to a maximum of 3,000 euros, for electric mopeds or motorcycles without scrapping.
• 40% of the purchase price, up to a maximum of 4,000 euros, for electric mopeds or motorcycles with the scrapping of a Euro 0, 1, 2 or 3 vehicle registered to the buyer for at least one year.
• 40% of the purchase price, up to a maximum of 2,500 euros, for thermal mopeds or motorcycles (with the obligation to scrap) and a 5% discount from the seller.
Attention: for heat engine vehicles, funds have already run out and will be available again only in 2025.
Which Vehicles Are Included in the Bonus?
The vehicles eligible for the 2024 Motorcycle and Scooter Bonus belong to one of the following L categories:
• L1e: Two-wheeled vehicles up to 50 cc (if thermal).
• L2e: Three-wheeled vehicles up to 50 cc (if thermal).
• L3e: Two-wheeled vehicles over 50 cc.
• L4e: Sidecar with a displacement of more than 50 cc.
• L5e: Symmetrical three-wheeled vehicles with a displacement of more than 50 cc.
• L6e: Lightweight quadricycles with a mass of less than 350 kg and a maximum displacement of 50 cc.
• L7e: Quadricycles with a mass of up to 400 kg (550 kg for freight transport).
Non-electric vehicles must be Euro Class 5 or higher.
How to Claim the Bonus?
The bonus request is managed directly by the seller through a dedicated platform from 3 June 2024. The steps are:
1. Seller registration on the platform.
2. Reservation of contributions.
3. Payment of contributions to the buyer as a discount on the purchase price.
4. Refund of the contribution to the seller.
The buyer must do nothing, other than provide the seller with the required statements, including maintaining ownership of the vehicle for 12 or 24 months, as the case may be.
Expiry of Incentives
Incentives are available until December 31, 2024, unless funds are exhausted early. However, for thermal vehicles, the funds are already exhausted and it will be necessary to wait until 2025 for
any new appropriations.
