Financial results as at

Generali’s Board of Directors recently approved financial results as at, highlighting strong growth in operating income and a solid capital position. The Italian insurance group recorded significant growth in gross premiums, reaching 70.7 billion euros, an increase of 18.1% compared to the previous year.
This result was driven by the Life and Damage segments, which showed an increase of 23.3% and 9.8%, respectively.

Business segment performance

Operating income rose to 5.4 billion euros, an increase of 7.9%, mainly thanks to the Life and Asset & Wealth Management segments. Net profit increased by 5%, reaching 3 billion euros. Although the Solvency Ratio fell to 209% compared to 220% at the end of 2023, the group has demonstrated significant resilience in a complex economic environment

Future strategy and objectives

Generali announced that it will present a new strategic plan during Investor Day, scheduled for next month. The Group CFO, Cristiano Borean, has stated that the strong growth in operating income is destined to continue, thanks to the contribution of all business segments. In particular, the Life segment confirmed a very positive trend in net inflows, while the Non-Life segment saw an increase in profitability despite natural disasters. In addition, the Asset & Wealth Management segment contributed significantly to the results, demonstrating the strength of Generali’s business model.

Looking ahead to the coming months, the group is confident that it can achieve all the objectives of the ‘Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth’ plan. The diversification of profit sources continues to be a key element for Generali’s success in a constantly evolving market
