Deep Yellow Limited Enhances Uranium Project Exploration Efforts

Deep Yellow Limited, an emerging player in the uranium sector, has recently announced significant findings from its exploration activities in Namibia and Australia during the fourth quarter. This update highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its uranium resource base in these regions.

Exploration progress in Namibia

In Namibia, the company has made substantial advancements through a drilling program focused on assessing the Tumas palaeochannel, situated to the west of Tumas ML237.

By mid-November, the exploration included the completion of 39 drill holes, totaling 1,801 meters. This initiative not only confirmed the presence of the palaeochannel but also identified a favorable sedimentary fill.

Drilling insights

Recent drilling confirmed the presence of the palaeochannel, though only a few isolated zones demonstrated significant surficial uranium mineralization, exceeding 100 ppm eU3O8. Notable intersections included:

  • TUS125:2 meters at 188 ppm eU3O8 from 33 meters
  • TUS144:2 meters at 195 ppm eU3O8 from 17 meters
  • TUS147:2 meters at 139 ppm eU3O8 from 13 meters

These findings indicate limited discovery potential within this section of the palaeochannel. Consequently, the company plans to shift its focus towards underexplored basement areas that may contain alaskite-related uranium deposits.

Advancements at the Alligator River Project

The Alligator River Project, situated approximately 380 kilometers east-northeast of Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory, has experienced notable exploration activity. A comprehensive field program has included geological mapping and soil sampling at various prospects, such as Such Wow, TP14, and Q14. Additionally, passive and reflection seismic surveys were conducted at the Condor prospect, which is recognized for its potential to contain Ranger-style mineralization.

Geophysical and geological surveys

Deep Yellow has initiated high-resolution seismic surveys to address the challenges posed by conductive Cretaceous cover sediments, reaching thicknesses of up to 200 meters. Collaborating with Fleet Space, these surveys integrate existing data to enhance their exploration model for the future. The Northern Territory government has contributed A$100,000 to support these efforts.

At the Such Wow prospect, geological mapping has expanded the alteration footprint commonly linked to uranium mineralization. Additionally, sampling of termite mounds has revealed several significant uranium anomalies situated to the north of the Angularli deposit.

Drilling operations and findings at Alligator River

A recent drilling campaign, conducted from late August to early November, included 10 diamond core holes and 9 reverse circulation (RC) holes, totaling 4,660 meters of drilling. Results from the Q14 and TP14 prospects, part of a co-funded initiative by the Northern Territory Government, uncovered a significant fault zone that had not been previously explored. This zone is characterized by intense brecciation and alteration.

Among the notable findings, drill hole ARRC0025 recorded an impressive 22-meter zone between 78 and 100 meters, with elevated uranium mineralization. This includes a segment of 8 meters at 458 ppm eU3O8 starting from 84 meters. The corresponding diamond core hole ARDD0029 exhibited similar results, further enhancing the understanding of the geological structure and its mineralization potential.

Innovative exploration techniques

The integration of hyperspectral mapping in the recent drilling program signifies a notable advancement in mineral exploration. This technique generates detailed mineral maps of drill core and cuttings. It identifies changes that may not be visible to the naked eye, thereby guiding future exploration efforts.

Mulga Rock Project developments

In Western Australia, the Mulga Rock Project has made significant strides. Ground gravity and passive seismic surveys were completed in October. A total of 2,025 new gravity stations and 213 passive seismic stations were established. The results were processed and delivered in early November, supporting future exploration of potential northeastern extensions of the Mulga Rock East deposits.

Deep Yellow Limited is implementing a robust strategy to enhance its uranium production capabilities. This positions the company as a key player in the global uranium market. As demand for nuclear energy rises, their focus on high-quality resource development is both timely and significant.
