Asara Resources Limited, a leading gold exploration company focused on West Africa, has announced significant updates regarding its drilling activities at the Massan deposit within the Kada Gold Project in Guinea. The company has completed 2,455 meters of Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling, providing crucial insights into the mineral resource estimate (MRE) area. This announcement represents the second batch of results, highlighting the potential beneath the surface of this promising site.
The primary objective of this drilling phase was to enhance geological confidence and extend the known mineralization envelope at Massan. The results indicate a continuity of mineralized zones, reinforcing confidence in the geological framework of the project. Notably, these findings suggest that mineralization extends deeper than previously anticipated, with robust gold intersections identified in fresh rock.
Key findings from the recent drilling program
The latest results from eleven drill holes have revealed significant gold intersections. Among the prominent findings are:
- MSRC25-014: 55m @ 1.0 g/t gold from 17m, with highlights including 7m @ 3.1 g/t gold from 28m.
- MSRC25-015: 26m @ 0.9 g/t gold from 121m.
- MSRC25-016: 7m @ 1.4 g/t gold from 143m, and 5m @ 2.0 g/t gold from 146m.
- MSRC25-017: 23m @ 1.2 g/t gold from 64m, including 6m @ 3.8 g/t gold.
- MSRC25-018: 12m @ 3.0 g/t gold from 22m, with additional intersections at depth.
This data not only supports ongoing exploration efforts but also reinforces the geological model informing the drilling strategy. The campaign has successfully targeted both infill drilling and depth extensions, confirming the consistency of mineralized zones.
Implications for future exploration
Encouraged by these results, Asara is preparing to initiate the second phase of drilling, aimed at exploring the strike extensions to both the north and south of the current deposit. The objective is to further expand the resource footprint and enhance the overall mineral resource estimate.
According to Matt Sharples, CEO of Asara Resources, the recent assay results have validated the company’s geological model. He stated, “The latest batch of assay results from the Phase 1 drilling program at the Massan deposit at Kada is highly encouraging. Not only do they confirm the widths and tenures of the expected grades, but most importantly, the intercepts were encountered exactly where predicted.” This affirmation of the geological model is critical for mitigating exploration risks and optimizing resource discovery costs.
Future drilling plans and expectations
The upcoming drilling campaign will be enhanced by the arrival of the Sahara Resources AC/RC rig, which will commence an extensive strike extension drilling program. This initiative will focus on confirming the resource scale along strike, both north and south, potentially increasing the Inferred Mineral Resource component of the Kada Project.
Asara Resources is committed to refining its drilling plans based on evolving data. The integration of these insights will guide near-term exploration strategies, bolstering geological confidence and facilitating the identification of new mineralization zones.
As exploration efforts continue to yield positive outcomes, the company is positioned to leverage this momentum to unlock the full potential of its gold resources in Guinea.
